How to replace my lithium battery of my Polar FS1 watch Heart Rate Monitor
This was my first attempt on how to replace my old FS1 Polar battery (CR2025-fr Radio Shack) on my own. I used a 1.6 m/m Precision Screwdriver to remove the screws. Then I used a small flat head about 3.8 m/m size to prey open the back corner where I took of the plate of my watch. Since I had my watch for a few years now, it was out of warranty. But ppl should be aware even if your still under warranty, you could void it even IF you attempt to remove the back cover of the watch, so beware. But for those who feel that they could do it on their own good luck and hope this video helps you:)

@mei645 thanks for sharing the additional tip! This will help others:)
Thank you for the video, and the following comments. You guys provide better customer service than polar
Nice tutorial – I have the same watch and wanted to add something. If your watch keeps resetting after replacing the unit in the case: Along the rear top border (above the battery and to the right of the copper coil) there’s a small reset lever. When the metal of the unit is pushed down by the outer plate (ie when you snug up the screws), it can trigger this reset function unpredictably. Just bend the reset lever up and away from the silicon chip!
Good thing you were able to find that small metal piece of your watch. That’s why I highly recommend people that your workstation is clear of “stuff”. I’m glad to hear my video helped you! Mine is still working so I’m happy too:)
Brilliant, thank you! When I tried to replace my battery, a small piece of metal flew out of the inside. After searching for an hour to try and find where it went, I saw it in your video under the battery. Thank you so much
Hello, I’m not sure about your transmitter for your chest. You’ll need to check your manual or check Polar website to find out. Mine is a simple chest strap that I don’t see any parts that I’m able to remove/replace. Good luck in your battery replacement!
Great Video. I need to purchace my battery. I was wondering if the transmitter for your chest needs replaced to?
One thing to remember is that some polar watches, the battery needs to be flipped to the other side when installing.
Your welcome. I’m really glad I was able to help:) My polar watch is still going strong!
Thanks. Good video and big help. Saved me time and money.
Nate
I went to the internet to find out where to send my Polar. I ran across your video and it showed me how and I did it in about 10 minutes. The CR2025 battery cost me $4.99 at Walgreen’s and “chick, chick, all fixed up” I use my Polar to monitor my heart rate, to check on my pacemaker. It’s important to me, so you were a big help and time saver. Thanks.
@orinoc0 thanks for watching and for the tips. I’ll keep those in mind when I have to replace my battery again:)
Great instruction. Saves a lot of money and time.
Hint: Things go a lot easier when you remove the two wrist band parts. All you need is a thin paper clip wire to press into the little wholes at the side where the wrist band is fixed to the watch. I also found out that the new battery doesn’t pop out when you press it firm into the gap.
BTW with small button cells I was thaught not to touch it with bare hand, because the acid from your fingers is supposed to cause damage to the battery.
@bosquep thanks, I hope it helped!
@bobmacw that’s great to hear. Glad it helped you!
Great video. Thank you.

Bobmacw, that’s awesome! Glad I was able to help you save some money.

I just replaced my battery with your help – cost about $5 and took 10 minutes. Thanks so much!
